This variety pack was very fairly priced, and I was able to try all of the different bars that interested me. Here are my reviews of each flavor, in the order that I ate them (I ate the most appealing ones first).CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH -- I had heard great things about this flavor, and I wasn't disappointed. Had a bit of an aftertaste (stevia?) so I recommend eating it with some coffee. Very pleasant. Would eat again. WHITE CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY -- Ick, ick, ick. I thought this would be great...I could barely choke it down. Horrible artificial raspberry flavor, chalky texture, the works. This turned me off of all of the fruit flavors, and I didn't try another bar for a long time. DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHUNK -- Ok, I'm back on the Quest bar bandwagon. This was amazing. I've been following a low-carb diet with one day to refeed, but I needed something to help with recovery after workouts on my low-carb days. I'm not a fan of protein shakes or chocolate milk, so these bars have been really good for my needs. They are a good source of protein have just enough carbs to refuel. I noticed that some other reviewers weren't getting 12 different bars, but I had no problems with that. I received the 12 different flavors as described and will review each in order from least to most favorite shortly. Overall, here are the pros and cons of the set:Pros: Good source of protein. No soy, gluten, or other weird ingredients that you've never heard of or can't pronounce. Low sugar, low effective carbs, and high in fiber. I sprang for the variety pack, which is a bit more expensive by about $6 than the boxes of one flavor, to figure out my favorites. One flavor I noticed this didn't have was the PB&J, which I tried at my gym and turns out THAT is my favorite, but I definitely like having the variety. Really, they're all pretty good, but for me, banana nut, mixed berry, white chocolate raspberry, and double chocolate chunk are the stand-outs. |
